A Kingston College High School graduate receives the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) from the Ontario Ministry of Education in Canada, an independent secondary school located in Ontario, Canada.
In Kingston College, online learning is delivered using a blended approach to meet students’ needs. Students from foreign schools and learning centers can take classes in Canadian classrooms as part of a partnership program. Students take courses entirely in English, and each course is marked and graded by Ontario-certified teachers.

1. Why should I obtain the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)?

2. What do I need to obtain the OSSD?
Standard OSSD Diploma program in Canada
30 total credits: Earn 18 compulsory credits and 12 optional credits
Community Involvement: Complete a minimum of 40 hours of community involvement activities
Literacy requirement: Successfully complete the provincial secondary school literacy test (OSSLT).
Kingston College OSSD 3-year Dual Diploma program in your country
11 total credits minimum (2 Grade 10 courses, 3 Grade 11 courses, 6 Grade 12 courses)
Submit your previous and current local high school transcripts for evaluation to receive Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR) of local course credits.
Complete a minimum of 10 hours of community involvement activities per year
Literacy requirement: Successfully complete the provincial secondary school literacy test (OSSLT).
Kingston College OSSD 1-year University Kingston College Diploma program in your country
7 total credits minimum (1 Grade 11 course, 6 Grade 12 courses)
Submit your previous and current local high school transcripts for evaluation to receive Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR) of local course credits.
Complete a minimum of 10 hours of community involvement activities per year
Literacy requirement: Successfully complete the provincial secondary school literacy test (OSSLT).
NOTE: Only students with high performance in the local national school and a high level of English are recommended to enter this program. You must be in Grade 11 in your local school to be eligible for this program.
3. Will these courses count towards my OSSD diploma or university application?
Yes. Kingston College is a registered online Secondary School in the province of Ontario, Canada. Kingston College is inspected regularly by the Ministry of Education of Ontario and is authorized to grant Ontario Secondary School Credits, which are the same credits earned by students in all public schools and private schools in Ontario.
4. Are the credits recognized by universities and colleges?
As a registered Secondary School in Ontario (BSID: 668728), the credits issued by Kingston College are the same credits earned from any public or private schools in Ontario and are recognized by all universities and colleges all over the world.
5. How are my credits from another country transferred?
Credits from your home country will be transferred through the formal evaluation and credit-granting process called Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). Pathway’s Guidance Team will review the student’s home country transcripts and assign credits towards the student’s OSSD.
6. Is Kingston College inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education?
Yes. Kingston College is a registered Secondary School in the province of Ontario, Canada. We are inspected regularly by the Ministry of Education of Ontario and was successfully issued a BSID number (678766). For more information, please visit: Private Schools Ontario.
7. Can students from Kingston College apply to universities and colleges outside of Canada?
The OSSD is an internationally recognized diploma, so students who have graduated with an OSSD from Kingston College may apply to any universities and colleges worldwide.
About Kingston College’s Courses
1. How are courses delivered in my country?
The Pathway OSSD Dual Diploma program is an online program. Students complete courses independently. All assignments are marked by a Kingston College Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) from Canada. Students will have access to local coordinators in your country for tutoring and guidance support.
2. What learning materials are provided? Do we need textbooks?
All instructional materials (required readings, homework, projects) are designed by professional teachers, adopted by all secondary schools and recognized by the curriculum of Ontario Ministry of Education. All course materials, including an online textbook, is included with Kingston College. Your course text, interactive multi-media resources, and practice problems are available 24 hours a day on our online learning management system.

4. How are Kingston College courses different from other course providers?
Kingston College offers engaging courses designed specifically for today’s global, digital generation of high school students. Through case studies, virtual labs, problem sets, simulations, and lab reports, our courses incorporate rich multimedia content for students to actively learn all course material. Each 110-hour course involves 70% assignments and 30% final project/examination, keeping students busy and engaged.
5. How do I write the final exam in a course?
Kingston College final exams are completed under the supervision of an approved proctor from a Kingston College local education partner.
