The One-Year OSSD Pathway is designed for students who have already completed a significant portion of their high school education but want to graduate with a Canadian diploma — fast.

The accelerated program is open to students aged 16 to 21 — typically those in their final year, or who have completed Grade 11 (or its equivalent) in another country. It is the most common route for international students who are aiming at Canadian universities and want to apply as domestic candidates through OUAC code 102.

After a short placement process, students take six to eight online courses over the span of ten to twelve months. All courses are taught by Ontario-certified teachers and meet Ministry of Education standards. Course families typically include English (ENG4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), and a combination of sciences or business courses depending on the student's intended university program.

The program is built to be intensive but realistic: most students take two to three courses at a time, with weekly milestones, live sessions, and direct teacher feedback. Advisors meet with students each week to review progress and prepare them for the OSSLT and university applications.

Graduates receive the same diploma as local Canadian students. They apply through the OUAC system under code 102, which qualifies them as domestic applicants for tuition and certain Canadian scholarships. International applications outside Canada — to the United Kingdom, the European Union, Asia and other regions — also recognize the OSSD as a strong secondary credential.

It is worth saying clearly: a one-year program does not guarantee university admission. Acceptance always depends on grades, program requirements, English proficiency, and supporting documents — and these vary by university. What the One-Year OSSD Pathway does is give a serious student a recognized Canadian credential and a structured runway to apply with.

A serious student leaves with a recognized Canadian credential — and a structured runway to apply with.
